Clutch work needs the right tool, and the factory toolkit does not include one. Pulling a primary off the crank, holding a helix while you adjust it, compressing a secondary spring or driving roller pins out are all jobs that go badly with a pry bar and well with the tool built for them. These are the clutch tools for Can-Am and Polaris machines, including the pullers, splitters, holders and extractors that clutch tuning actually requires.
What Each Tool Is For
Clutch pullers and primary clutch pullers - get the primary off the crank without damaging the shaft or the sheave
Clutch splitters - separate a QRSX or P-Drive primary for service
Helix holding and adjustment tools - hold the helix under spring load and change the ramp setting accurately
Spring compression tools - swap primary and secondary springs safely
Roller and pin extractors - drive driven rollers and weight pins out cleanly
Belt removal tools - change a belt without fighting the sheaves
Buy The Tool Once
A clutch tool is cheaper than a damaged crank, and most of these pay for themselves the first time you tune at the truck instead of booking a shop visit. If you are building a clutch kit install into a weekend, check the kit instructions for which tools it assumes you already own - the DIY clutch tool kits bundle the common ones at a lower price than buying them one at a time.
