The High Lifter Alignment Kit is a pair of powder-coated steel plates that bolt straight to your wheel hubs so camber and toe can be measured properly in your own garage, on 4/137 and 4/156 bolt patterns.

Rather than leaning a straightedge against a knobby tire, the plates bolt on and measure from the hub. Two tape measures read toe directly across the plates. A magnetic digital angle finder, accurate to 0.1 degrees and calibratable for a non-level surface in seconds, reads camber off the plate face.

Built To Solve: Camber and Toe Errors on 4-Lug UTVs and ATVs

  • Uneven tire wear. Alignment that is out of spec accelerates how fast tires wear, and takes ball joints, bushings, tie rods and steering racks with it.

Fitment

This kit fits by bolt pattern, not by year, make or model. High Lifter states the plates are designed to fit most UTV hub bolt patterns in 4/156 and 4/137, up to 12mm stud size. The published combinations are:

FAQ

What bolt patterns does this alignment kit fit?

4/137 and 4/156 only, up to 12mm stud size. High Lifter publishes seven specific combinations: 4/137 in 10mm x 1.25, 12mm x 1.25 and 12mm x 1.5, and 4/156 in 3/8-24, 10mm x 1.25, 12mm x 1.25 and 12mm x 1.5. Stud size matters as much as the pattern here, so check both against your hubs before ordering.

Does this kit fit 5-lug or 6-lug machines?

No. This is the 4-lug kit. If you run a Polaris RZR Pro R or Turbo R on 5x4.5in, or a Can-Am Maverick R on 6x5.5in, you want High Lifter's 4, 5 and 6 lug alignment tool, which adds those two patterns on top of the 4-lug ones. Buying on price alone will catch you out here — the wider-fitment tool is not the dearer one.

Does it measure camber, or only toe?

Both, with a separate tool for each. Toe is measured directly using the two tape measures included in the kit. Camber is measured with the magnetic digital angle finder, which is accurate to 0.1 degrees, has a large LCD, and can be calibrated for a non-level surface in seconds — which matters, because most garage floors are not level.

Do I have to remove the wheels?

Yes. The plates bolt to the hub and are secured with your own lug nuts, so the wheel comes off to fit them. That is deliberate: measuring from the hub face is what makes the reading trustworthy, and it is the difference between this and a gauge that rests against a flexing sidewall and a knobby tread.

Can I use it on the rear as well as the front?

Yes. Each plate bolts to a hub and nothing about it is front-specific, so rear toe and rear camber can be checked the same way as long as the rear hubs use one of the supported 4-lug combinations. Confirm the rear pattern rather than assuming it matches the front.

Do I need adjustable arms to make use of it?

Not for toe, which is adjusted at the tie rods on virtually any machine. Camber is the one that depends on your hardware: most stock side-by-sides have no camber adjustment at all, and you need adjustable control arms, adjustable ball joints or camber bolts before a camber reading turns into a camber change. The kit is still worth having on a stock machine to measure what you have and to set toe correctly.
