The SuperATV Can-Am Defender heater for HD10 models pulls heat straight from the engine coolant lines to warm your cab and defrost the windshield, just like a car heater. It mounts under the dash, runs on the Defender's key-on power, and gives you adjustable temperature and fan speed so cold-weather rides stay comfortable.

This Can-Am Defender HD10 heater kit includes the heater unit, high-grade radiator hoses, a defrost vent and hose, drill bits and Defender HD10-specific mounting plates. Options let you add a second-row Can-Am Defender MAX heater for rear passengers, a grille cover, a quick-start flow valve and an idle flow pump.

FAQ

How much heat does this Can-Am Defender cab heater put out?

SuperATV rates the heater as capable of 14,600 BTU at 135 CFM. It draws heat from the Defender's engine coolant, the same way a car or truck heater works, so output builds as the engine warms up.

Will this heater keep my Defender windshield clear of fog and ice?

Yes. Along with the two 360° adjustable vents on the unit, the kit includes a defrost vent and hose. The defrost vent is routed through the dash to keep snow, ice and fog off the windshield while you drive.

Which Can-Am Defender models does this cab heater fit?

SuperATV lists the Defender HD10 DPS, XT, XT Cab (2016+), Mossy Oak, XMR and XTP (2018+), HD10 6x6, Limited and Pro HD10 (2020+), plus the Defender MAX HD10 DPS, XT and XT Cab (2017+), Lone Star Edition (2018+), XMR (2019+) and Limited (2020+). Fitment on unlisted models is not guaranteed.

How much power does it draw, and will it drain my battery?

The heater draws 3.4 amps at 13.7 volts. The kit wires into the Defender's own key-on and power terminals, so the heater only runs when the machine is switched on.

Do I have to drill for the Can-Am Defender heater install?

Yes. Installation requires drilling through plastic in a few spots. SuperATV includes the drill bits, hoses, Defender HD10-specific mounting plates and instructions, and the official install guide is linked on this page.

Quick-start flow valve or idle flow pump: which one do I need?

The quick-start flow valve sends all engine coolant to the heater core at low engine temps and cuts warm-up time roughly in half. The idle flow pump actively circulates coolant so heat moves in as little as 30 seconds, even at idle or slow speeds. One of each serves both the front and second-row heaters, and SuperATV recommends combining them for the fastest heat.

Why SuperATV

SuperATV builds each Can-Am heater kit around the machine it fits, with Defender HD10-specific mounting plates and wiring that uses the Defender's own key-on and power terminals. Like every SuperATV UTV cab heater, it is backed by a 1-year limited warranty, and SuperATV's Virtual Mechanic service can put an expert on a video call if you want help during installation.

Complete Your Can-Am Defender HD10 Cold-Weather Cab

A cab heater works best in an enclosed cab. Before you order this Can-Am Defender heater kit, confirm your Defender model and year in the fitment list, and choose the Front and Rear option if you ride a Defender MAX HD10 with rear passengers. Pair the heater with doors, a roof and front and rear windshields to seal the cab, and add the quick-start flow valve and idle flow pump if you spend a lot of time at idle or low speed.
