Most X3 half windshields stop the wind at chest height and let the rest of it hit you in the face.

UTV Zilla builds this one taller than much of what is on the market and puts a larger deflector lip across the top, so the air is pushed further over your head instead of curling straight back into the cab.

It mounts with quick straps and strengthening back plates, so it goes on and comes off without tools when you want the airflow back, and a full rubber seal along the bottom edge keeps it quiet against the cage rather than buzzing at speed.

Key Features

  • Taller profile than many X3 half windshields on the market
  • Larger deflector lip across the top for more air protection
  • Full rubber seal along the bottom edge for a quiet fit
  • Quick straps with strengthening back plates for tool-less install and removal
  • 3D CAD designed and CNC cut for a precise fit
  • Tough polycarbonate construction
  • Three options: standard polycarbonate, tinted, or hard coated
  • Made in the USA

Built To Solve: Wind Buffeting And Face-Level Roost On A Can-Am X3

  • A short half windshield deflects air into your chest and lets the rest hit you in the face
  • A full windshield traps heat and dust on slow, hot trail days when you want air moving through the cab
  • Windshields that bolt on permanently cannot come off for the days you want the wind
  • A panel without a bottom seal buzzes and drums against the cage at speed
  • Untinted plastic puts low sun straight in your eyes on morning and evening runs

Best For: X3 Riders Who Want The Wind Off Without Losing Airflow

  • Riders who run hot and want air moving through the cab rather than a sealed cockpit
  • Anyone who wants to pull the windshield off for a dune day and put it back for a trail run
  • Riders chasing wind protection on a budget rather than a full glass setup
  • Owners picking a finish to suit their riding: standard, tinted for low sun, or hard coated for sand
  • Consider instead: the UTV Zilla full glass windshield if you want the cab closed off completely, or the tinted visor if your only problem is sun rather than wind

Fitment

Fits 2017-2025 Can-Am Maverick X3 models, including X3 Max, X3 64 and X3 72.

Will not fit machines with intrusion bars.

Polycarbonate panels can interfere with aftermarket roofs, other windshields, rear windows, cab enclosures, stereos and mirrors. Check clearance against anything already mounted to your cage. Fitment is not guaranteed on applications not listed above.

Installation instructions: install guide (PDF).

FAQ

How is this different from a cheaper X3 half windshield?

Two things: it is taller than much of what is on the market, and the deflector lip across the top is larger. Both push air further over your head rather than letting it curl back into the cab. It also has a full rubber seal along the bottom edge, which is what keeps a half windshield from drumming against the cage at speed.

Which of the three options should I pick?

Standard polycarbonate is the lowest price and fine for occasional use. Tinted helps most if you ride into low morning or evening sun. Hard coated costs more but resists scratching far better, which matters if you ride sand or dust regularly and end up wiping the panel often.

Can I take it off without tools?

Yes. It mounts with quick straps backed by strengthening plates, so it comes off and goes back on by hand. That is the main reason riders choose a strap-mounted half windshield over a bolt-on panel.

Does it fit my year X3?

UTV Zilla lists this half windshield for 2017 through 2025 Can-Am X3 models. Machines with intrusion bars are excluded regardless of year.

Will it keep dust out of the cab?

Not fully, and no half windshield will. It takes the wind blast and most of the face-level roost off you while deliberately leaving the top open for airflow. If sealing out dust is the goal, a full windshield plus the rear window is the setup you want.

Will the polycarbonate scratch?

It can, and UTV Zilla says so plainly. All polycarbonate scratches; the hard-coated option resists it much better but is not scratch proof. Rinse grit off before you wipe rather than dragging it across the panel with a dry towel.

Why UTV Zilla

UTV Zilla designs and cuts every polycarbonate panel in the line from a 3D CAD model on a CNC, uses name-brand Makrolon and Lexan sheet rather than generic plastic, and builds in the details that cheaper panels skip: a full rubber bottom seal, strengthened strap backing plates, and a taller profile with a real deflector lip. The line is made in the USA and priced to be the sensible first upgrade rather than the expensive one.

Pick Your Can-Am X3 Wind Protection

Confirm your X3 year falls in the 2017-2025 range and that your machine does not run intrusion bars, which is the one hard exclusion here. Then choose your panel: standard if this is an occasional-use windshield, tinted if low sun is your problem, hard coated if you ride sand and will be wiping it often. Riders who want the cab closed off entirely should look at the UTV Zilla full glass windshield instead, and anyone whose only complaint is sun in the eyes may be better served by the tinted visor on its own.
