On a 2014-2016 Polaris RZR XP 1000 or 2016 RZR XP Turbo, the lower rear radius rod is the part that finds the rock first, and a bent one drags your rear alignment with it. This LM UTV 64-inch kit is a Billet high clearance radius rods set that lifts the lower arms out of the strike zone on 6061 Aircraft grade aluminum, and it is the kit for the 10mm Bolt car.

The lowers are fixed length so the high clearance geometry stays where LM UTV set it, while the uppers are adjustable — 2 adjustable upper rods with RH/LH 5/8 Heims — so rear alignment can be dialed in without pulling the lower arms. It is a Direct Bolt-on Replacement, and this kit does fit with the OEM rear bumper.

Built To Solve: Bent And Dragging Lower Rear Radius Rods On The 64" Polaris RZR XP 1000

  • Lower rods catching rocks and rutted-out lines. The factory lower sits low and takes the strike; raising it is the only fix that actually changes the outcome.
  • A bent rod that pulls rear toe. Once the rod is tweaked the car wanders under power and the rear tires scrub.
  • Rod ends that go notchy and sloppy. Play at the end loads the joint off-axis and the slop only gets worse from there.
  • Lower arms rotating in the mount. The 17-4 Stainless Steel spacers designed to keep the lower arm upright hold the arm in the plane it was built to work in.
  • Alignment that means taking parts off the car. RH/LH 5/8 Heims on the uppers let rear toe be set with the rods in place.
  • Losing the rear bumper to get clearance. This kit does fit with the OEM rear bumper, so the bumper stays on.

Best For: 10mm Bolt 64" Polaris RZR XP 1000 And XP Turbo Owners In Rocks And Ruts

  • 2014-2016 RZR 1000 and 2016 RZR Turbo owners, 2 or 4 seat, running the 64-inch chassis
  • Riders in rocky, rutted or technical terrain where the lower rear rod is the exposed part
  • Owners rebuilding a rear end after bending or denting a factory lower rod
  • Anyone who wants to keep the OEM rear bumper while gaining clearance under the lower arm
  • If your car uses 12mm Bolt hardware at the radius rods — 2017.5 and newer RZR 1000, 2017-2018 RZR Turbo — this is the wrong kit; the 12mm Bolt version is a separate part number and the two do not interchange
  • RZR Turbo S owners are on the 72-inch chassis and need the 72" kit; Pro XP owners need the Pro XP kit

Fitment

Fits 2014, 2015 and 2016 Polaris RZR XP 1000 and RZR XP 4 1000, and the 2016 Polaris RZR XP Turbo and RZR XP 4 Turbo, in 2 seat and 4 seat form on the 64-inch chassis. LM UTV states the fitment as: Fits 2014-2016 RZR 1000, 2016 RZR Turbo. 2/4 Seat. 10mm Bolt. Bolt size is the deciding factor here — this is the 10mm Bolt kit, and 2017.5 and newer 12mm Bolt cars take a different part number. Fitment is not guaranteed on applications not listed here.

FAQ

Why does the lower rear radius rod bend first on a 2014-2016 Polaris RZR XP 1000?

It sits lower than anything else back there, so in rocks and ruts it is the part that makes contact. Once it deforms, the rear geometry it was holding moves with it. This kit answers that with Billet high clearance radius rods that lift the lower arm, built from 6061 Aircraft grade aluminum.

My RZR wanders under power since a hard hit — can radius rods cause that?

Yes. A tweaked rear rod changes rear toe, and the car will hunt under throttle and scrub tires. Replacing the rods as a set restores the geometry, and the 2 adjustable upper rods with RH/LH 5/8 Heims let you set rear toe afterward.

Will these fit my 2017.5 or newer Polaris RZR with 12mm Bolt hardware?

No. This is the 10mm Bolt kit for 2014-2016 RZR 1000 and 2016 RZR Turbo. LM UTV builds a separate 12mm Bolt kit for the 2017.5 and newer cars, and the two are not interchangeable. Check the bolt at your radius rod mount before ordering.

What bearings and spacers does this kit use?

The lowers run 5/8 spherical bearings and the uppers run RH/LH 5/8 Heims, all as 3 Piece Chromolly PTFE lined 5/8 bearings. Spacers are 17-4 Stainless Steel spacers designed to keep the lower arm upright.

Do I have to cut or weld anything, and can I keep my OEM rear bumper?

No cutting or welding — LM UTV lists this as a Direct Bolt-on Replacement using the factory mounting points. And yes, this kit does fit with the OEM rear bumper, so the bumper does not have to come off.

How is this different from the 72-inch Polaris RZR Turbo S kit?

Different car and different width. This is the 64" wide kit for the 10mm Bolt RZR 1000 and RZR Turbo. The Turbo S kit is built for the 72" Polaris RZR Turbo S and is a separate part number — the arms are not shared between the two chassis.

Why LM UTV

LM UTV combines engineering and manufacturing knowledge with modern design skills to produce UTV products like no other, and the company's passion for off-roading has led it to find solutions for broken or malfunctioning OEM parts and create improvements while giving the parts an impressive and attractive aesthetic. All of its parts are designed and made in the USA and come with a Lifetime Warranty. That focus is why this kit's spec sheet names the bearing construction and the spacer material instead of leaving them vague.

Complete Your 64" Polaris RZR Rear Radius Rod Upgrade

Before you order, verify one thing: pull a radius rod bolt and confirm it is 10mm, not 12mm — that single check decides between this kit and the 2017.5+ version. Then decide your finish, machined finished or Type 3 Hard Black Powder Coat. Once the rods are on the car, the mounting side becomes the next thing worth looking at, along with a rear alignment to set toe through the adjustable uppers. Matching rear tie rods and a spare set of 5/8 bearings are the sensible companion parts to have on the shelf before a trip rather than after one.
