Fitment

Fits 2017 and newer Can-Am Maverick X3 DS models on the 64" chassis, including the four-seat Maverick X3 Max on that same width. This is the heim-end kit that includes its own Heat treated 4340 Chromolly inner clevis; the version that reuses the OEM inner joint on this same car is LMU-STR-02-05. The 72" RS chassis uses different part numbers again, so confirm your chassis width and trim before ordering. Fitment is not guaranteed on applications not listed here.

Why do factory tie rods bend on a Can-Am Maverick X3 in the first place?

This one, LMU-STR-02-03, replaces the inner joint with a Heat treated 4340 Chromolly inner clevis and renews the entire steering link. LMU-STR-02-05 keeps your factory inner joint and upgrades only the rod and the outer end, which costs less and is the shorter job. Choose this one for a complete rebuild, that one if your inner joint is still tight.

Will this fit my 72" Maverick X3 RS?

No. This is the 64" DS kit. The 72" RS chassis is a different width and LM UTV sells its tie rod kits for that car under separate part numbers, in both a complete heim version and an OEM Inner version. Measure or confirm your chassis width before ordering, and ask us if you are unsure which car you have.

What are the heim joints actually made of?

They are 3 Piece Chromolly PTFE lined 5/8 Heim joints. Three-piece Chromoly construction with a PTFE liner is a different build from a nylon-injected rod end, and the hardware and spacers around them are Heat treated 17-4 Stainless Steel.

Do I have to cut or drill anything to install these?

No. LM UTV lists this as a Direct Bolt-on Replacement, so it goes on using the factory mounting points. Plan to set toe once the new rods are in, since you are replacing the full steering link.
