Polaris Ranger XP 1000 ball joints fail at the snap ring, and a machine that hauls, tows and works loaded finds that weak point faster than a sport car does. That thin retaining clip is all that holds a factory joint in the A-arm, and steady load plus the extra leverage of bigger tires is enough to deform or shear it. Keller ball joints remove it entirely — the two-piece housing threads into the arm like a nut and bolt. Hardened 4340 chromoly, greaseable, adjustable and rebuildable.

Read this before you order. The Ranger XP 1000 is really two different front ends under one name. Polaris changed the joint for 2021, and Standard Cab and Crew Cab take different parts on top of that — so you need three things right: your cab, your model year, and the position you are replacing. The options below are arranged in that order.

FAQ

Why are there so many options on this listing?

Because the Ranger XP 1000 is three separate questions, not one. Polaris changed the front end for 2021, Standard Cab and Crew Cab take different parts, and the upper and lower are different joints. Pick your cab, then your year, then the position — in that order — and the correct part is the one left standing.

Why do Ranger XP 1000 ball joints pull out of the A-arm?

The factory joint is retained by a snap ring seated in a groove. The steady load a working Ranger puts through the front end can deform or shear that ring, and once it goes the joint has nothing holding it. Keller joints thread into the A-arm instead, so there is no clip to fail.

My machine is a 2019 Standard Cab and the lower is not available. Why?

SuperATV lists the Standard Cab lower for 2017 only, while the Crew Cab lower runs to 2018. That is the vendor's own fitment, not an oversight on our part — the uppers cover 2017-2020 on both cabs.

Are the upper and lower joints different?

Yes, on every year and both cabs. Select the position you are replacing, or take a kit: Upper + Lower covers one corner, and the full front end covers all four.

Do Keller ball joints require A-arm modification?

No. Keller joints thread into the factory arm as supplied, so no machining is needed.

Can these be rebuilt instead of replaced?

Yes. They grease and adjust, and the Keller ball joint rebuild kit for Polaris services them with a new cup, boot and pin when the internals eventually wear — that kit carries separate options for the earlier and the 2021-onward lowers.

Todd Keller designed the two-piece threaded ball joint to fix the one part of a stock front end that keeps failing, and SuperATV now builds and backs the line. The design has barely changed because it does not need to: thread the housing in like a nut and bolt, use a chromoly stud, and make the whole assembly serviceable so a worn joint gets rebuilt rather than binned.


Keep Your Ranger XP 1000 Working

Before ordering, confirm three things in order: Standard Cab or Crew, your model year, and which position has failed. The full front end option covers all four corners and is the usual choice on a high-hour work machine. If the boots are torn but the joints are sound, the Keller boot replacement kit is the cheaper fix. If the joints are worn but the housings are good, the Keller rebuild kit for Polaris services them. Tie rods and A-arm bushings are worth inspecting while everything is apart.
