The Maverick X3 Max puts more machine behind the same front axle. This Demon heavy duty axle is a direct-fit replacement for the front left position on the Maverick X3 Max applications listed below, built to hold up where the stock part gives in.

Through years of research and development Demon Powersports has developed an axle that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket and adheres to the highest quality standards. These axles are bigger, beefier, and stronger. Demon Heavy Duty Axles are built using larger CV joints and shafts, paired with a proprietary dual heat treatment process and a 4340 chromoly steel inner CV cage, giving the axle the edge it needs for superior strength and longevity. The double plunge design delivers 1.5 inches of plunge travel and 40 degrees of articulation at the inboard joint, with 0.5 inches of travel and a 45–47 degree swing range at the outboard joint.

Key Features

  • Dual heat treated high strength chromoly steel shaft
  • Inner CV cage upgraded to 4340 chromoly steel
  • Larger CV joints and shafts than the standard line
  • Double plunge design — 1.5 inches of plunge travel and 40 degrees of articulation on the inboard joint
  • Outboard joint with 0.5 inches of travel and a 45–47 degree swing range
  • TPEE boots — stiffer and more fatigue, puncture and temperature resistant than a standard OEM boot
  • Molybdenum grease for low friction and smooth motion

Built To Solve: Broken Front Axles On A Can-Am Maverick X3 Max

  • Stock front axles that let go under power in sand, rock or whoops
  • Torn OEM boots that sling grease and destroy the CV
  • Clicking or binding at full droop
  • Repeat axle replacement on a machine making more power
  • CV heat build-up on long, fast runs

Best For: X3 Max Owners Who Ride Hard

  • Dune and sand riders loading the front driveline hard
  • Desert and whoop riders running long, fast miles
  • Owners who have already broken an OEM shaft on this chassis
  • Riders carrying a spare for remote trips
  • Machines running more power or taller tires

  • 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max DS Turbo R
  • 2020–2021 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max RS Turbo R

FAQ

Does this fit a standard Maverick X3?

Demon's application list for this part number covers Maverick X3 Max machines only. The shorter-wheelbase X3 takes a different part number — confirm your model before ordering.

Is 2019 covered?

No. Demon lists 2017–2018 and 2020–2021 applications for this axle, with no 2019 entry. Check the fitment list above against your machine's year and trim.

Is this one axle or a pair?

One axle, sold each, for the front left position. The opposite side is a separate part number.

Why do stock axles break?

Axles fail where the shaft and CV joint run out of articulation and plunge travel under load. Demon uses larger CV joints and shafts and a dual heat treated chromoly shaft to raise that limit.

What are TPEE boots?

Thermoplastic polyester elastomer. Demon uses them because they are stiffer and more fatigue, puncture and temperature resistant than a standard OEM boot — boots are where many axle failures start.

Is there a stronger option?

Yes. Demon's X-Treme line runs 4340 chromoly through every component, and the Race Spec version steps the shaft up to a 300M aircraft-grade alloy.

Why Demon

Demon Powersports developed this line through years of research and development, aiming at parts that outlast the stock component without a race-parts price. Their products go through testing before launch, and the heavy duty and X-Treme tiers are what they put behind their own racers.

Complete Your X3 Max Front Driveline Rebuild

The front left and front right axles are separate part numbers on this machine, so order both if you are doing the pair and keep the old side as a trail spare. While the front end is apart, check the ball joints and tie rods — worn steering components let the suspension outrun the axle’s articulation and are a common reason a replacement axle fails as fast as the original.
