A 6-inch lift puts the stock axle at an angle it was never built to run. This Demon lift kit axle is the extended-length front replacement for Can-Am Maverick X3 machines running a 6-inch lift, built to put the CV joint back in its working range and hold up there.

Through years of research and development Demon Powersports has developed an axle that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket and adheres to the highest quality standards. These axles are bigger, beefier, and stronger. Demon Heavy Duty Axles are built using larger CV joints and shafts, paired with a proprietary dual heat treatment process and a 4340 chromoly steel inner CV cage, giving the axle the edge it needs for superior strength and longevity. The double plunge design delivers 1.5 inches of plunge travel and 40 degrees of articulation at the inboard joint, with 0.5 inches of travel and a 45–47 degree swing range at the outboard joint.

FAQ

Do I need a lift kit to run this axle?

Yes. This is the extended-length version built for machines running a 6-inch lift. On a stock-height Maverick X3 it will be too long — use the standard-length Demon axle instead.

Will it work with any 6-inch lift kit?

Demon builds this axle to the added length a 6-inch lift creates. Brands vary slightly in geometry, so check your kit's spec against the applications listed above before ordering.

Does this fit a Maverick X3 Max?

Demon's application list for this part number covers Maverick X3 trims and does not list Maverick X3 Max machines. Confirm your model before ordering.

Is this one axle or a pair?

One axle, sold each. It fits either front side, so order two if you are replacing the pair.

Why do stock axles break on a lifted machine?

Lifting the machine increases the CV operating angle. Stock shafts run out of plunge travel and articulation sooner at that angle and fail at the joint. A correct-length axle puts the joint back in its working range.

What are TPEE boots?

Thermoplastic polyester elastomer. Demon uses them because they are stiffer and more fatigue, puncture and temperature resistant than a standard OEM boot — boots are where many axle failures start.

Why Demon

Demon Powersports developed this line through years of research and development, aiming at parts that outlast the stock component without a race-parts price. Their products go through testing before launch, and the heavy duty and X-Treme tiers are what they put behind their own racers.

Complete Your Lifted Maverick X3 Front End

Lift kit axles are sold each. Order both sides if you are doing the pair, and keep the best old shaft as a trail spare. While the front end is apart, check the ball joints and tie rods — a lift loads those harder too, and worn steering components are a common reason a fresh axle fails as fast as the one it replaced.
