FAQ

Why replace the Viking caliper pistons with stainless?

OEM composite pistons can turn brittle and chrome or aluminum pistons can corrode and stick. All Balls' 304 stainless pistons resist corrosion and carry less heat into the caliper.

What comes in the kit?

All Balls lists two caliper pistons.

Which models does it fit?

All Balls lists Can-Am Commander 1000 (2011-2017); Can-Am Commander 1000R (2018-2020); Can-Am Commander 800 (2011-2020); Can-Am Maverick 1000 R (2013-2018); Can-Am Maverick 1000 Turbo OG (2016-2017); Can-Am Maverick Trail (2018-2020); Kawasaki Mule Pro-DX (2016-2018, 2021-2026); Kawasaki Mule Pro-DXT (2016-2018, 2021-2026); and more, see the full fitment list below.

Which position does it fit?

It depends on the machine. All Balls lists it for more than one position; the position for each machine is listed under Fitment.

Is installation difficult?

The caliper is disassembled, the old pistons are pushed out and the new stainless pistons go in with fresh seals. A caliper rebuild kit is usually replaced at the same time. Bleed the brakes afterward. All Balls does not publish an install sheet for this part.

Do I need a caliper rebuild kit as well?

Usually yes. New seals and boots should go in with new pistons, so pair this with the matching All Balls caliper rebuild kit.
