FAQ
How do I know my master cylinder needs a rebuild?
A soft or sinking pedal or lever, fluid leaking at the master cylinder, or fluid that keeps dropping in the reservoir are the usual signs.
What comes in the kit?
All Balls lists one boot, two master cylinder piston sets, one snap ring and 7 washers.
Which models does it fit?
All Balls lists Can-Am Commander 1000 (2011-2017); Can-Am Commander 1000R (2018-2020); Can-Am Commander 800 (2011-2020); Can-Am Commander MAX 1000R (2018-2020); Can-Am Maverick 1000 R (2013-2018); Can-Am Maverick 1000 Turbo OG (2015-2017); Kawasaki Mule 3000 (2001-2008); Kawasaki Mule 3010 (2001-2008); Kawasaki Mule 4000 (2009-2023); and more, see the full fitment list below.
Is installation difficult?
The master cylinder is removed and disassembled so the piston, cup seals and boot can be replaced. Reassemble, refill with the correct fluid and bleed the system. All Balls does not publish an install sheet for this part.
Should I rebuild or replace the master cylinder?
If the bore is clean and unscored, a rebuild kit restores it for far less than a new master cylinder. A pitted bore needs a replacement unit.
