FAQ

How do I know my Ranger 1000 caliper needs a rebuild?

A caliper that drags or sticks, a pad that wears unevenly, fluid weeping around the pistons, or a torn dust boot are the usual signs.

What comes in the kit?

All Balls lists four boots, two caliper seals and two washers.

Which models does it fit?

All Balls lists Polaris General XP 1000 (2020-2026); Polaris RZR 4 800 (2010-2014); Polaris RZR XP 900 (2011-2014); Polaris Ranger 1000 (2018-2022); Polaris Diesel (2015-2021); Polaris Ranger Crew XP 570 (2015); Polaris Ranger Midsize (2013-2021); Polaris 400 (2010-2014); Polaris 500 (2017-2022); Polaris Ranger XP 1000 (2017-2022); and more, see the full fitment list below.

Which position does it fit?

It depends on the machine. All Balls lists it for more than one position; the position for each machine is listed under Fitment.

Is installation difficult?

The caliper comes off and is disassembled so the pistons can be removed and the seals and boots replaced. Clean the bore, reassemble, and bleed the brakes. All Balls does not publish an install sheet for this part.

Should I replace the pistons too?

If the pistons are pitted, corroded or cracked, replace them with a stainless piston kit while the caliper is apart.
