FAQ

How do I know my CV boot is torn?

Grease slung around the inside of the wheel, a visible split in the boot, and a clicking joint once dirt gets in are the usual signs. Replace a torn boot quickly to save the joint.

What comes in the kit?

All Balls lists CV boot kit x1 with clamps.

Which models does it fit?

All Balls lists Can-Am Commander 1000 (2011-2017); Can-Am Commander 1000R (2018-2026); Can-Am Commander 800 (2011-2020); Can-Am Commander MAX 1000R (2018-2026); Can-Am Commander XMR 1000 (2022-2026); Can-Am Defender HD10 (2016-2026); Can-Am Defender HD5 (2017-2021); Can-Am Defender HD7 (2022-2026); Can-Am Defender HD8 (2016-2021); and more, see the full fitment list below.

Is installation difficult?

The axle comes out and the joint is removed so the old boot can be cut off and the new boot installed and clamped with fresh grease. All Balls does not publish an install sheet for this part.

Why replace the boot instead of the axle?

A boot caught early saves the CV joint and costs far less than a complete axle.
