The RAM Twist-Lock mechanism is significantly more secure than standard lever-style cups. For smooth, clean surfaces it holds very well under off-road vibration. For the most secure installation on UTVs, a permanent base like the RAM Round Plate (RAM-B-202U) or Diamond Base (RAM-B-238U) bolted to an AJK dash panel is recommended. The suction cup is best for vehicles where permanent mounting is not desired.
What surfaces does the suction cup not work on?
Textured, porous, or rough surfaces — most factory UTV dashes, soft-touch surfaces, or any surface with visible texture. Clean, smooth glass or hard plastic surfaces work best.
How do I release the suction cup?
Twist to unlock — the suction releases with a quarter-turn of the cup. Pull the release tab to break suction cleanly without yanking.
