FAQ

How much heat does this General XP 1000 in-dash heater put out?

SuperATV rates the front in-dash heater as capable of 20,000 BTU at 135 CFM. It draws heat from the engine coolant, so it keeps putting out hot air as long as the engine is running.

Does it defrost the windshield?

Yes. The kit includes the vents and hoses to send heat to the windshield, so you can clear frost without a scraper.

Which General XP 1000 models does it fit?

SuperATV lists Polaris General XP 1000: 2020+; Polaris General XP 4 1000: 2020+. Not compatible with models that have an in-dash subwoofer. Rear (2nd Row) packages are for the 4-seat General XP 4 1000 only.

What does the second-row heater add?

The second-row heater mounts in a steel housing between the rear seats of the General XP 4 1000, with its own temperature and fan controls. It is rated at 14,600 BTU at 135 CFM, and its tubing routes from the front through the rear firewall.

What does the grille cover do?

The grille cover blocks airflow through the radiator so the coolant, and your heater, warm up faster on freezing rides. Remove it when temperatures are above freezing.

Quick-start flow valve or idle flow pump: which one do I need?

The quick-start flow valve sends all engine coolant to the heater core at low engine temps and cuts warm-up time roughly in half, then opens on its own once the engine is warm. The idle flow pump actively circulates coolant so you get heat in about 30 seconds, even at idle or slow speeds. SuperATV recommends combining them for the fastest heat.
