FAQ

How much heat does this Can-Am Commander cab heater put out?

SuperATV rates it as capable of 14,600 BTU at 135 CFM. It draws heat from the engine coolant lines like a traditional car heater.

Where does it mount?

It mounts under the passenger-side dash, and the defrost vents are routed through the dash so they look factory-installed.

Which Commander models does it fit?

SuperATV lists the 2011-2020 Commander 1000, 1000 DPS, X, XT, LTD, XTP and the MAX, DPS MAX and XT MAX. Fitment on unlisted models is not guaranteed.

How hard is the wiring?

The kit uses the Commander's own key-on and busbar terminals, and SuperATV includes the hoses, drill bits, mounting plates and instructions. The official install guide is linked on this page.

How much power does it draw?

The heater draws 3.4 amps at 13.7 volts.

Quick-start flow valve or idle flow pump: which one do I need?

The quick-start flow valve sends all engine coolant to the heater core at low engine temps and cuts warm-up time roughly in half, then opens on its own once the engine is warm. The idle flow pump actively circulates coolant so you get heat in about 30 seconds, even at idle or slow speeds. SuperATV recommends combining them for the fastest heat.

Why SuperATV

SuperATV builds this kit around the Commander, with Commander-specific mounting plates and wiring that uses the machine's own terminals, so the install stays clean. The heater is backed by SuperATV's 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser.
