The MRC Stage One EVO is a DOT-certified pumper helmet for UTV and prerunner riders that moves the air inlet to the side, giving more headroom so the hose connection stays clear of the roof. This version comes wired with a Rugged Radios helmet kit for OFFROAD and STEREO intercoms, plus a removable dust skirt.

The threaded Mid-Air inlet feeds pumper air through an injection-molded Flowhawk 2.0 manifold and updated airflow channels, so the forced air ventilation system keeps fresh air moving inside the helmet on dusty rides.

Built To Solve: Roof Clearance, Dust and Intercom Wiring in a UTV Pumper Helmet

  • Top-mounted pumper inlets that sit close to the roof or cage in a tight UTV cab
  • Dust getting into the helmet on group rides and trail runs without forced air
  • Buying a helmet and a separate helmet kit, then wiring speakers and a mic yourself
  • Hard-to-dial fit between sizes, solved with included cheek and crown pads

Best For: UTV and Prerunner Riders Running Rugged Radios Intercoms

  • Side-by-side and prerunner owners who already run, or plan to add, a helmet air pumper
  • Riders using Rugged Radios STX Stereo or wired OFFROAD intercoms
  • Recreational dune, desert and trail riding. MRC states this helmet is not for race use
  • Riders who don't run a pumper may be better served by a non-pumper recreation helmet such as the MRC Stage One NX

Fitment

Choose the size range that matches your head, then use the included cheek and crown pads to fine-tune the fit. The wired kit works with Rugged Radios STX Stereo and wired intercoms, and with PCI Trax systems using the appropriate cables. Compatibility with other intercom systems is not guaranteed. Not for race use.

FAQ

Why does the Stage One EVO use a side Mid-Air inlet instead of a top inlet?

MRC placed the threaded Mid-Air inlet on the side of the helmet to give more headroom clearance, so the air hose connection is less likely to contact the roof in a UTV cab.

Does the MRC Stage One EVO need a helmet air pumper?

Yes, to use the forced air ventilation. The helmet is built to take pumper-fed air through its threaded inlet and Flowhawk 2.0 manifold. Pair it with a pumper such as a Rugged Radios MAC Air system and a hose.

Which intercoms does the wired Stage One EVO work with?

It ships with a Rugged Radios helmet kit that is OFFROAD and STEREO compatible, and MRC lists it as working with Rugged Radios STX Stereo and wired intercoms. PCI Trax systems also work with the appropriate cables.

What sizes are available and how do I get the right fit?

The helmet comes in three size ranges: XS-SM-MD, LG-XL-2XL and 3XL-4XL. Each range includes cheek and crown pads so you can size up or down within that range.

Can I connect a pumper hose with a MagLock quick connector?

Yes. The threaded air inlet is compatible with the MagLock Air Threaded Helmet Side Only Kit, which is sold separately.

How is the Stage One EVO different from the original Stage One Mid Air helmet?

The EVO adds a threaded Mid-Air inlet, the injection-molded Flowhawk 2.0 airflow manifold, updated airflow channels, a quick-swap cheek pad design and a redesigned interior that allows speaker repositioning.

Why MRC

MRC builds recreation helmets for side-by-side riders and sells them wired through Rugged Radios, so the helmet and intercom kit arrive as one package. The Stage One EVO is MRC's updated Mid Air pumper helmet, with a threaded side inlet and a new airflow manifold.

Complete Your UTV Pumper Helmet Setup

The Stage One EVO needs air to work as a pumper helmet. Pair it with a helmet air pumper sized for your seat count, a pumper hose, and a quick-release coupler. Confirm your intercom is a Rugged Radios STX Stereo or wired system, or order the correct PCI Trax cables, before you ride.
