This is the hook, not the mount. It works with our Can-Am X3 billet pull plate to attach a tow strap or tie down hook, and it is CNC machined from aircraft quality aluminum with large side flanges that add strength for sideways loads. 3 massive 1/2 -13 bolts attach the hook from the back. You need an LM UTV billet pull plate on the machine to run it.

The detail that matters in use is the large corner radius, which prevents tow straps from tearing where a sharp machined edge would cut them. Made in house, with a lifetime warranty, and offered in machine finish, black powder coat or one of eight powder coat colors.

Built To Solve: No Strong, Strap-Friendly Recovery And Tie-Down Point On The Can-Am Maverick X3

  • Nowhere purpose-built to hook a tow strap. This hook works with our Can-Am X3 billet pull plate to attach a tow strap or tie down hook.
  • Straps chewed up by sharp edges. The large corner radius prevents tow straps from tearing.
  • Angled pulls and side loads. Large side flanges add strength for sideways loads, so a recovery that pulls off-axis is not loading a thin unsupported tab.
  • Fasteners that pull through. 3 massive 1/2 -13 bolts attach the hook from the back rather than a single bolt in shear at the face.
  • Trailering tie-down points. The same hook takes a tie down hook, so the strap you pull with is the strap you strap down with.

Best For: Can-Am Maverick X3 Owners Who Already Run An LM UTV Billet Pull Plate

  • Riders who already have, or are buying, the LM UTV Can-Am X3 billet pull plate and want a dedicated tow and tie-down point on it
  • Anyone who gets stuck, or who pulls friends out, and wants a real strap attachment instead of a suspension component
  • Owners who trailer the machine and want a purpose-made tie-down anchor at the rear
  • Builders matching finishes across a machine — this is offered in machine finish, black powder coat and eight colors
  • If you do not run an LM UTV billet pull plate, this hook has nothing to bolt to. Add the plate to your order, or start with the plate first
  • If you want a front recovery point, this is the rear pull plate hook and is not the right part

Fitment

Fits 2017 through 2027 Can-Am Maverick X3 models, including the 64" and 72" chassis and the four-seat X3 Max. It is not a standalone chassis part: it works with our Can-Am X3 billet pull plate, and the plate has to be on the machine for the hook to bolt to anything. If you do not already run one, add the LM UTV billet pull plate with this hook. Fitment is not guaranteed on applications not listed here.

FAQ

Do I need the LM UTV billet pull plate to use this hook?

Yes. This hook works with our Can-Am X3 billet pull plate to attach a tow strap or tie down hook — it mounts to that plate and does not bolt directly to the chassis. We sell the plate, so if you are not already running one, order it together with the hook.

How does the hook attach?

3 massive 1/2 -13 bolts attach the hook from the back. Fastening from the rear of the plate means the bolt heads are not exposed on the face where a strap rides.

Will a tow strap chafe or cut on it?

The hook is machined with a large corner radius that prevents tow straps from tearing. That radius is why a strap can be loaded over the edge of the hook without being cut the way a sharp machined corner would cut it.

What happens on an angled pull that is not straight back?

Large side flanges add strength for sideways loads, which is the case this hook is shaped for — recovery pulls rarely come straight off the back of the machine.

Can I use it as a tie-down anchor for trailering?

Yes. It is listed as a tow and tie-down hook, and the pull plate mounting is what makes it usable to attach a tow strap or tie down hook. The same anchor works for a strap on the trailer and a strap in a recovery.

What is it made of, and is it warrantied?

It is CNC machined from aircraft quality aluminum, made in house, and designed and made in the USA. It carries LM UTV's lifetime warranty.

Why LM UTV

LM UTV combines engineering and manufacturing knowledge with modern design to produce UTV products like no other, and the parts are designed and made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. The line exists because of a passion for off-roading and a habit of finding solutions for broken or malfunctioning OEM parts — tie rods, radius rods and ball joints across Polaris and Can-Am models, with more being added. Because everything is made in house, details like the corner radius on a strap hook get engineered rather than left to chance.

Add The Hook To Your Can-Am Maverick X3 Pull Plate

Check one thing before you order: whether the LM UTV billet pull plate is already on the machine. If it is, pick a finish — machine finish, black powder coat, or one of the eight colors — and the hook bolts on with its three 1/2 -13 bolts from the back. If it is not, add the pull plate to the same order so the hook has something to mount to. A rated tow strap and a set of soft shackles finish the recovery kit.
