FAQ
How do I know my Wolverine X2 U-joint is bad?
A clunk when you shift between forward and reverse, vibration that rises with speed, rust dust at the caps, or play when you twist the shaft by hand are the usual signs.
What comes in the kit?
All Balls lists one u-joint and cap plug (per All Balls).
Which models does it fit?
All Balls lists Arctic Cat Prowler 1000 (2009-2017); Arctic Cat Prowler 550 (2009); Arctic Cat Prowler 650 (2006-2009); Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 (2021-2026); Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 (2021-2026); Yamaha Wolverine X2 1000 (2024-2026); Yamaha Wolverine X2 850 (2019-2026); Yamaha Wolverine X4 850 (2018-2026).
Which position does it fit?
It depends on the machine. All Balls lists it for more than one position across its applications; the position for each machine is listed under Fitment.
Is installation difficult?
The drive shaft or axle comes out, the old U-joint caps are pressed out of the yokes and the new joint is pressed in and its snap rings fitted. A vise or press and your service manual are needed. All Balls does not publish an install sheet for this part.
Should I replace the U-joint or the whole drive shaft?
If the shaft is straight and the yokes are undamaged, a new U-joint is the low-cost fix. If the tube is bent or the yokes are worn, replace the shaft.
