Can-Am Commander 1000 owners run out of axle strength before they run out of nerve. This Demon heavy duty axle is a direct-fit replacement for the front left position on the listed 2011-2018 Commander 1000 applications, built to hold up where the stock part gives in.
Through years of research and development Demon Powersports has developed an axle that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket and adheres to the highest quality standards. These axles are bigger, beefier, and stronger. Demon Heavy Duty Lift Kit Axles are built using larger CV joints and shafts, paired with a proprietary dual heat treatment process and a 4340 chromoly steel inner CV cage, giving the axle the edge it needs for superior strength and longevity.
The double plunge design lets the shaft slide on the bar splines for 1.5 inches of plunge travel and 40 degrees of articulation at the inboard joint, with 0.5 inches of travel and a 45–47 degree swing range at the outboard joint depending on the model. TPEE boots are stiffer and more fatigue, puncture and temperature resistant than a standard OEM boot, and molybdenum grease keeps friction low and motion smooth.

Fitment
Demon lists this part for 2011–2018 Can-Am Commander 1000/800/Max 1000 Front Left Heavy Duty Lift Kit Axle.
Fitment is not guaranteed on applications outside that range. Confirm your model year, trim and machine width before ordering — and if you run aftermarket suspension, confirm your kit.
FAQ
Is this one axle or a pair?
One axle, sold each. Order quantity two if you are replacing both sides.
Why do stock axles break?
Axles fail where the shaft and CV joint run out of articulation and plunge travel under load. Demon uses larger CV joints and shafts and a dual heat treated chromoly shaft to raise that limit.
What are TPEE boots?
Thermoplastic polyester elastomer. Demon uses them because they are stiffer and more fatigue, puncture and temperature resistant than a standard OEM boot — boots are where many axle failures start.
Is there a stronger option?
Yes. Demon's X-Treme line runs 4340 chromoly through every component, and the Race Spec version steps the shaft up to a 300M aircraft-grade alloy.
Does this fit my machine?
Check the fitment section above against your year, model and trim. Demon lists this part only for the applications shown, and fitment is not guaranteed outside them.
What warranty does Demon offer?
See the specifications above for the warranty Demon lists on this part.
Why Demon
Demon Powersports developed this line through years of research and development, aiming at parts that outlast the stock component without a race-parts price. Their products go through testing before launch, and the heavy duty and X-Treme tiers are what they put behind their own racers.
Complete Your Can-Am Commander 1000 Build
Confirm your year, model and trim against the fitment above before ordering, and check the position line — some Demon parts are sold each and some as a set. If you are replacing a worn part, look at what wears alongside it: on a driveline that means the carrier bearing and u-joints, on the front end it means ball joints and tie rods. Replacing one worn component next to another about to fail is how people end up doing the job twice.
